Ballast Point Variations Night

Our friends at Ballast Point Brewing Co. in San Diego have been making alternate versions of their award-winning beers for years. On Thursday May 23rd, we’re giving you a rare opportunity to try a unique pairing of several of those beers.

We’ll have three beers unaltered and in their pure form; Wahoo Wheat, Sextant Stout, and Dorado DIPA. Next to each will be a altered version; Thai Chili Wahoo Wheat, Sour Barrel Aged Sextant Stout (On Nitro) and Dorado On Nitro. Each of these beers will be paired with a small bite of food to bridge the two beers. The final pairing will feature two limited fruit beers; bOOb Check(Pink ale made with cherries, hibiscus petals, and lime. Brewed for “Beer for Boobs”) and Barmy (made with apricots and carmelized honey) with a dessert bite to finalize the pairing.

Each beer will be available as a single serving; 1/2 pour of each beer along with the small bite, or as a flight with all the small bites of food. More details about this event as available will be found on our Facebook & Twitter.

Beachwood System of a Stout Bottle Release

We are set to release System Of A Stout, an Imperial Armenian Coffee Stout on May 24.

System Of A Stout is brewed with blackstrap molasses, green cardamom, and a custom Armenian coffee roast blend from Costa Mesa’s Portola Coffee Lab℗. This big imperial stout is also aged in Armenian brandy oak adding an additional dimension of complexity.

System of a Stout will be sold in 22 oz. bottles at finer craft beer retailers across Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego counties. The stout will also be available on draft at both Beachwood BBQ locations. Sorry, no growler fills.

LA Foodie’s - Get Porked

For one night only, L.A. Foodie is pairing 4 mouth watering styles of BBQ pork with 4 frosty and delicious beers from Beachwood BBQ and Brewing.

#GetPorked will both satiate and educate. During dinner, L.A. Foodie’s Ben & Drew will record a live #LAFoodiePodcast about American BBQ styles and the beers that pair best with them. Peek behind the #LAFoodiePodcast curtain while Ben & Drew crack wise with their special #GetPorked guests.

#GetPorked features a sit-down dinner that starts promptly at 8:00. There will be plenty of time before and after dinner to mingle, horse around, and enjoy your gift bag!

Every #GetPorked guest will receive a hefty course of delicious BBQ. For dinner, you will be served a sit-down meal that includes all 4 styles of pork and sides. The full meal will be about the same size as a large combo plate.
